Coca Cola Talk - Monday 20th February
This talk was by James Sommerville, the Vice President of Coca Cola's branding. This talk was incredibly inspirational due to the fact that the man had come from Huddersfield where he had his own small business and had reach the top of the design world. It was incredible the name dropping that James could do, the fact that after the talk he was doing to us he was going to meet with Neville Broady, who is a person who I personally take inspiration from, was mind blowing. I recognised a lot of the work that James has been involved in and for him to show us secret future Coca Cola projects was something very special. I was strange to think that until recently Coca Cola thought "We didn't design the posters, we designed the system". I think that they got away with this purely down to their reputation alone. You need to design the poster as thats what the target audience see they don't care for the system they are going to buy the product based of what they see on the poster.
