After effects workshop - Thursday 27th October

I found this workshop beneficial as I learnt a new piece of software that I have never used before. I quite enjoyed using the software as I like the idea of there being a visible end product in the form of a video which despite it only being 10 seconds long still gave a sense of achievement. I made a vimeo page to document these workshops and the link for it can be found in the sidebar. I am looking forward to the next workshop and making something based on an existing source which I at the moment I am using the first Hunger Games movie. I hope to come back and develop these skills further as I feel as if the change overs on this piece aren't as precise as I would like which is to be expected on my first time using the software therefore I would like to possibly make another piece to music in which I can try and get the changeovers and the music more in sync and precise.

Since then I have gone on to develop this further. In the lesson we had the option of doing an animation just with colours to music or one with a poem or quote that we liked. Therefore I decided to develop my work by pursuing the other option of a quote. I looked at existing example as found this video on Vimeo that I thought was particularly effective and would inspire my work. I like how imagery is used within the piece to strengthen the meaning and impact of the text. Also the use of a limited colour palette proves quite effective in the piece as it makes the text stand out more due to the contrast.

I then found a quote to base my work around. The composition itself uses fading in and out of the images and text to the music. Like the piece that I took inspiration from I too have included relevant imagery to strengthen the impact of the text.
