Live brief launch - Tuesday 25th October
Today I was introduced to live briefs offered to the university from all sorts of companies. I will have to think further before choosing which one to pursue. Big companies like Lexus gave briefs with unknown outcomes but potentially the could be a big project with huge rewards that cannot yet be foreseen. However smaller companies such as a furniture shop wanting a rebranding which is a brief which really stood out to me as branding is something I'm heavily interested in. They also offered a money incentive which is always a bonus. Donny Osmond and his daughter wanted an album cover again not a large prize on the surface but the fact that the work would be seen worldwide is something that would be highly beneficial, more so than the money in the long run. Then there was a local project to design a backdrop for the Huddersfield market Santa's grotto. In this case the work would not reach a wide audience but it would be seen by a nearby audience which may lead to potential work to do alongside studies. All these factors are something I will have to consider in more detail before pursuing any of them.
