Exploring Geometry - Wednesday 4th October
This workshop was about exploring geometry and the different animation effects that can be used to make your work using it to stand out. The animation is made up of 7 short, one second animations and a 3 second closing animation. The new tool learnt that is used in a lot of the piece is the wiggler tool in After Effects. In my animation I have applied this affect to paths and in some instances shapes as a whole. The 3rd and 5th mini animation within this project are examples of making the whole shape wiggle. Whereas the 4th and 6th ones are examples of individual paths or outlines of shapes wiggling. The first of the animations is using the venetian blinds effect which is in effect over the whole second in which that animation is running. This effect uses two colours one as a start colour and one which it will transition into. This then forms lines of various colours which in which the second colour's lines get larger until you are left will a screen of block colour. The second mini animation is using a cc slant effect and a position change throughout the piece so that a thick red line overpasses the piece. The 7th of the one second sections is a simple rotation of various squares aligned at different angles and overlapped. The finished piece of animation is shown below.
