Rotoscoping - Wednesday 25th October

I am particular pleased with the outcome from this rotoscoping workshop. We started the session by taking videos of ourselves doing an action of our choice. I chose to drum as can be seen below.
I then put this into After Effects and used the pen tool in order to make a mask around myself in the starting frame of the video. By doing this I could then make it so that I was the only thing visible in that frame. I then continued to do this process throughout the whole animation for every frame by moving the current time indicator and then editing the anchor points of the mask to fit my movement in the animation, creating a new key frame each time. One frame with the mask applied can be seen below.
I then put this into a 10 second composition. Seen as the current clip was only 1 second long I then had to time remap it so that it looped throughout the whole piece. The way in which I did this was by typing the appropriate code into the text box next to expression: time remap, this can be seen below.
I then applied a solid green object and placed it over my rotoscope. I then applied the Alpha Matte option to it in the track matte options list this meant the the colour of the object was only visible over the rotoscope, as can be seen below.
After this I used a skill from the last after effects workshop in order to create a background. I created some shapes in the colour of the rotoscope and then used the wiggler tool along with other affects to complete the background. The final piece can be seen below.
