Xmas card pitch - Friday 28th October
This workshop was a fun way to design whilst also testing my skills to design something specific that is not usual practise. Thinking about redefining the Christmas card so that you could tell it had been made by a designer was quite a difficult concept. Initially I played around with photography using the blue and yellow of the university as a colour pallet, however this did not give a Christmas feel to the design so I changed my idea completely. I started experimenting with lots of other ideas before eventually refining it down to typography. The end product shown above is a sort of grunge style attempt at using typography instead of imagery for a Christmas card. The words around it are all Christmas associated and are coming off the words Huddersfield university in the centre. Needs a few alterations before being submitted for the competition however.
