Portrait Workshop - Wednesday 13th December

This was a catch up session for a workshop that was missed due to staff illness at the start of the year. This session was about using your own face to abstract create work. When we arrived we were given an image of ourselves taken off our student ID. We then were told to cut this up and recreate in anyway we wanted. I chose to make a cyclops style character with a beard made out of my hair and hair made from my t-shirt. After this we then had to draw the design that we had made, my results can be seen below.
We then photocopied our own faces and did a similar exercise with this images, before using a dotted design to make a recreation of our own face. Again my results can be seen below.
Since this workshop I have went back and extended upon the work by making digital copies of this style of work. I used an image of myself and then used the pen tool in order to create one of the polka dot textures. The other two tones were using images I got online and then shaped accordingly. I felt as if pastel colours worked well with this type of work using the image shown in one of the screenshots below taken at the star of this process.
